Onda libera (also known as Televacca) was a comedy entertainment program, broadcast from 19 December 1976 to 9 January 1977 on Rete 2 in four episodes. Created by Roberto Benigni, Giuseppe Bertolucci, Beppe Recchia, Umberto Simonetta and directed by Beppe Recchia, the program is presented by Benigni himself (Mario Cioni), who avails himself of the collaboration of the two "valets" Carlo Monni (the cowherd Monna, who often holds a camera by hand) and Donatella Valmaggia (Donatella), and is set in a stable in Capalle with cows, horses and poultry. From this stable, the farmer Cioni entered the television frequencies and interfered in the programs with his monologues, which completely revolutionized the way of doing light entertainment in those years. Various guests follow one another within the programme; among the many there is the Duo Fasano, who sings Noche de ronda, and Francesco Guccini, who in the first episode sings I figs, a song which will then be included twenty years later (in a studio version) in the album D'amore di morte e di altre occhizze. The musical direction and original music of the program are by Riccardo Vantellini, who conducts the RAI Orchestra. The sketches of Marco Messeri's character, a sex-phobic priest named Don Fascione, were recorded as per the contract for the entire duration of the program and were never broadcast.
