In the early 1980s, Jiang Guifang became the head chef of the state-owned dumpling restaurant of Beiyu Station because of her skill in making dumplings. Later, due to policy reforms, she was run away by co-manager Xu Dawen, who was always against her. After being laid off, Jiang Guifang opened a "Grandma's Dumpling House" in order to provide food and clothing for her family. In the early days of starting her business, she was in a difficult situation, but she persisted.
