Elisa Estrada is an intelligent and hard-working woman, owner of a prestigious publishing house called El Mercurio. She is married to Armando Zertuche and has four children: Roberto, Miranda, Clara and Enrique. But despite being a successful professional, as a mother and wife she has been very absent. Armando is a good-for-nothing who lives off his wife's work and doesn't care about his children either. Therefore, in the absence of parental figures, young people suffer from serious personality and behavioral disorders. Roberto imitates his father's example and dedicates himself only to the good life, while Miranda suffers from kleptomania and Clara has become a mythomaniac. The only one who studies and has not taken a wrong turn is Enrique, whom Elisa adopted when she was little.
