
Random Acts of Flyness from artist Terence Nance (An Oversimplification of Her Beauty) explores evergreen cultural idioms such as patriarchy, white supremacy and sensuality from a new, thought-provoking perspective.A fluid, stream-of-conscious response to the contemporary American mediascape, each episode of Random Acts of Flyness features a handful of interconnected vignettes, showcasing an ensemble cast of emerging and established talent. The show is a mix of verité documentary, musical performances, surrealist melodrama and humorous animation. Nance and his collaborators weave together such themes as ancestral trauma, history, death, the singularity, romance and more, creating a television show like nothing seen before.

Terence Nance introduces RANDOM ACTS OF FLYNESS before being stopped by the NYPD. Segments include: "Everybody Dies!," a cable-access show hosted by "Ripa the Reaper"; an infomercial for a topical-ointment cure for "white thoughts"; and a talk show on sex in the black community.

This week's program begins with a video game to train an army of black women to defend themselves against aggressors. A gender-diverse group of subjects talk about the performance of gender. A wise uncle attempts to program his nephews on how not to be creepy. Speaking of creepy, Wendy gets lured into ''Nuncaland,'' the Dominican-American fable inspired by a classic children's story.

This week's program moves from the story of an afro that goes to prison for ''badness''' to a family mourning a high-profile case of police violence. After Najja has her demons exorcised, her Jealousy tries to talk its way back into her life. Artist Stephanie Dinkins describes her encounters with a simulated black woman.

While working on her latest game, Najja takes a unique and murderous approach to ritual. After having his wounds appraised, Terence has all the guidance he needs for the 6-dimensional journey ahead.

Terence's wound MANDY is maaaaad loud – and has been talking out of pocket to Najja – so Terence attempts to silence that dude… forever. Najja prepares for the ritual to end, or begin, all rituals – which apparently requires a very specific hat.
