A man with a troubled past gets a second chance to do right by his family, and while facing old demons and new temptations, he finds himself in the midst of dangerous dealings on the Antwerp docks.

Former TV star John Beckers gets one last chance to get his life back on track. He goes to work in his father-in-law's port company. He soon fights his old demons and new temptations and ends up in the circuit of the most dangerous and lucrative trade on the Antwerp harbor docks: cocaine.

Everyone is looking for Freddy Michielsen. Except John, who knows where Freddy is. He is looking for a pair of green Nikes so he can go for a run.

John gives in to the stress. He disappears into the darkness of a gambling den with an unbearable feeling of guilt. Marjan receives dramatic news.

John hopes to find salvation by entering into new, dangerous alliances with crime boss Benedicte De Pelsmaecker.

John's new world doesn't seem to be what he expected and he tries a new alliance to turn Michielsen NV into a completely different company. Carl, worried about Ella, makes a clear agreement with John.

Marjan resists the charms of Patrick De Beco and John notices the advantages of his new position, when his past problems suddenly seem to disappear on their own. De Pelsmaecker, concerned about the well-being of her new partner, solves the problem with Verret's gang.

John gains valuable information, but also leaves a trail of information that could get him into serious trouble. Marjan discovers John's lies.

Marjan learns more about John than she had hoped and John puts Carl in position for an ultimate revenge that may solve all his problems. De Beco receives police visits.

Marjan falls in love and John crosses an important line to get what he wants. Rasha receives bad news.

John sees his plans come to fruition and the pawns move on the board as he envisioned, but for that success he pays a much higher price than he anticipated.

During John's pre-trial detention, the world does not stand still: Marjan divorces him, Barry wakes up from his coma, but is no longer the same as he was and Ella became pregnant by him. De Pelsmaecker is now putting pressure on her network to get John released as quickly as possible. When this finally works after two months and John is released due to lack of evidence, she expects a favor in return: John must take over De Beco's affairs for her.

After John appears as a guest on a talk show, he receives a proposal to present a new TV quiz. An idea that particularly appeals to Barry. However, it is also John's first working day at De Pelsmaecker. John soon realizes that he is now playing at a different level and that the risks and expectations are corresponding. Port Alderman Van Cauwenberghe is criticized for the lax drug policy and, together with right-hand man Didier Buelens, finds a scapegoat in the form of the Commissioner. However, he sees his chance to save his skin and his pension through a final strategic game with De Pelsmaecker.

John's business on the De Beco premises is in full swing and he earns a lot of money. Everything goes according to plan, until Ella finds a bank statement and confronts John with his lies: he promised her never to do criminal work again. Barry decides to work with John, which gives John wings. Especially because he has now discovered what De Pelsmaecker's weak spot is. Barry is now busy with other things: Julie Beckers.

De Pelsmaecker wants to do something about the Van Cauwenberghe problem. Because she has to take care of her sick father, she leaves it to The Driver, but she soon regrets this when the harbor ships end up in the hospital and in the news. Van Cauwenberghe is happy because he has an appointment with Marjan Michielsen. Things don't go so well for Carl, who, together with his therapist, finds a way to tell Ella how he feels and how he misses her...

De Pelsmaecker goes to Van Cauwenberghe with an attractive proposal that could help him win the elections. But Van Cauwenberghe must think carefully about whether he wants to do business with her. In return, she wants the promise that her port companies will escape his strict vetting. Ella loses her father and allows Carl back into her life. She is still angry with John, who is living in a hotel for the time being. Things are getting better between Julie and Barry, although the latter still doesn't dare say anything to John about his new relationship...

After the Commissioner is found in a confused state and without clothes, both John and Van Cauwenberghe know that De Pelsmaecker is behind it. Van Cauwenberghe is shocked by how things are apparently going for those who do business with her, and has his reservations. Buelens tries to calm him down. Ella's mother Ritje is coming back to Belgium, which is good news for Carl. When John discovers the relationship between Julie and Barry, his fears are blown.

The argument between John and Barry ensures that Julie no longer wants to know anything about her father. De Pelsmaecker, on the other hand, is more than business interested in John, but John is busy with other things: he buys a large house and hopes to win Ella back. In the meantime, he starts charming Ritje. Carl tries that too, in his own way and with the help of his therapist. But just when Ritje responds to his advances, disaster strikes.

Carl ends up in the hospital with Ritje and receives very bad news. He hides this for the time being from Marjan, who is now trying to run Michielsen NV herself, but cannot combine that with her gallery. Van Cauwenberghe is there to support her, although he prefers her away from the port, given the campaign he is running there. When John also comes up with a ruse to take over Michielsen NV from her, she fights back. In the meantime, Carl and Ritje plan a very radical conversation with Ella.

De Pelsmaecker discovers that John is trying to build his own empire behind her back. In addition, he cannot return her love. The revenge she plans is far-reaching even for her. John gets a tip and realizes he has fallen from grace. He has to think three times with every step he takes. Barry's conscience troubles him and he misses John. He decides to participate again. The question is whether he will arrive on time.

After the attack, Ella ends up in hospital. Barry and John are questioned by the police. John uses his fame in the media to trap Van Cauwenberghe, but he is not finished yet either. Carl wants to clear his conscience before it is too late and thus plays a crucial role in the end game that John Beckers absolutely must win to survive.
