Overview
The play comprehensively shows the hardships, joys and sorrows of life of Jianghu artists in the old society, and shows every detail of Jianghu artists in front of and behind the scenes. This enables the audience to learn about the little-known industry characteristics such as the rules of the arena, industry rules, and stage rules. And the arduous process of how artists learn and practice their skills until they become successful. How the master allows his apprentices to "live" and "talk about life" alone (teaching cross talk programs) and at the same time explains to the audience the necessity of the so-called outdated teaching method of oral transmission of feelings to pass on the traditional art of cross talk. The play involves cross talk, drum music, opera, storytelling, magic, juggling, wrestling and other art categories, thus proving that cross talk is a comprehensive art. The play also shows the subtle relationship between artists, including each other, repelling each other, and falling in love, nakedly exposing the most essential weaknesses of human nature.
