T.I.R. (Due assi per un Turbo) is an Italian-Hungarian television series produced between 1984 and 1987 and released in 1987. It follows the lives of two truck drivers. Each episode tells a standalone story, with no overarching plot connecting them. The main characters are two Italian truck drivers, Franco and Giovanni.
Before Franco and Vanni set off on their next journey with the truck, someone secretly swapped the container on their vehicle. At the same time, masked men kidnapped Orazio's daughter, Gió. Shortly afterward, Franco and Vanni receive a phone call in the truck from the people who switched the container - who also happen to be Gio's kidnappers - giving them instructions. Somehow, Franco and Vanni must find a way to alert the police…
Giovanni has a minor accident in Kyiv, so Orazio has to go pick up the truck. He is happy to do so because, despite having been there during World War II, he has fond memories of Ukraine - especially of a girl who lived in Kyiv at the time. Now, he decides to search for his former love.
Franco and Vanni, along with several other truck drivers, transport aid supplies to Africa for the starving population. While there, they take on a new delivery through the jungle, guided by a beautiful young woman. However, they get lost and find themselves in serious trouble.
This time, Franco and Vanni are transporting 42,000 chickens by truck to Hungary. However, their journey is anything but smooth - an escaped convict forces them at gunpoint to take him home.
Stella wants to travel from Naples to Budapest, and the best solution seems to be hiding in a truck heading to Budapest. She puts her plan into action by secretly boarding the truck of the series' two main characters, Franco and Vanni. The remarkably resourceful little girl initially causes a lot of trouble for her "hosts," but later, they become friends.
Franco and Vanni plan to enter the famous Paris-Dakar car race. Gio also wants to participate with her Panda. However, a gang sets its sights on our heroes' truck and secretly installs a rocket on it, intending for the truckers to unknowingly transport the "cargo" to Dakar.
This time, Franco and Vanni are transporting a circus elephant to Hungary. The 3,500-kilogram animal is named Esmeralda. However, in the meantime, the circus director who ordered the "lady" is sentenced to three years in prison for fraud, leaving Esmeralda in their care. Meanwhile, they take on a new delivery, receiving a diamond that criminals are also eager to get their hands on.
Franco and Vanni arrive in an Arab country, where an Italian acquaintance arranges an excellent transport job for them. They are tasked with delivering medicines and medical supplies across the Sahara. The shipment is destined for a nomadic tribe engaged in a war with another tribe. However, during the journey, they discover that they are not actually transporting medicine, but weapons.
