Overview
In 863, at the invitation of Prince Rastislav I, two brothers came to Great Moravia to spread Christianity in the Slavic language, free the Great Moravian Empire from the influence of Latin-speaking priests and enable it to found its own church. These brothers were named Constantine and Methodius. On the occasion of the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Constantine and Methodius to our territory, director Petr Nikolaev filmed a historical documentary drama. The four-part series starring Roman Zach and Ondřej Novák tries to capture as many facts as possible from the life of the two brothers and the life of society in the 9th century. It combines the productions of several countries, but also brings about previously hard-to-imagine cooperation between the Catholic and Orthodox churches.
