Overview
In the late Qing Dynasty, China was experiencing internal and external troubles. Under the planning of Zeng Guofan and others, Jiangnan Machinery Manufacturing Administration came into being. Kuang Fuhai was sent by the Nian Army to stop him, and formed a life-and-death relationship with Xu Huarong, who dreamed of building his own strong ships and cannons. Xu Huarong spread Western science, promoted the Westernization Movement, prevented Li Hongzhang from using shipbuilding funds to purchase foreign warships, and worked hard to build warships, but ultimately failed. After the disastrous defeat of the "Sino-Japanese War of 1894", the Westernization Movement went bankrupt, and the Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau became the target of public criticism. Xu Huarong ran around shouting, operating in a miserable manner, and ushered in the Revolution of 1911. After Kuang Jiye returned from Japan, with the help of CCP member Li Yinxia, he launched a workers' movement to resist warlord plunder and ended the era of Morgan's dominance in Jiangnan. Japan launched a war of aggression against China, and Jiangnan Shipyard was swallowed up by Nagasaki Shipbuilding. The third generation Jiangnan Communists Sun Xianglong, Yang Shengguo and engineer Wang Tongbin fought wits and courage with the Japanese invaders, smuggling military supplies and transporting military personnel for the New Fourth Army. At the beginning of liberation, Jiangnan Shipyard made great achievements in equipping the first naval force of New China and successfully implemented the landing operation on Jiangshan Island.
