Each show consists of a long interview with an artist, in a location of their choice. Fréquenstar begins in 1988. At the beginning, between Nagui until 1989 and Laurent Boyer did his interviews in a studio until 1992. It was only in 1992 that the artists began to choose a place that was close to their hearts. The show stopped in 2006 but returned in 2019 Fréquenstar with Laurent Boyer on the radio on RTL. On September 23, 2025, W9 announced the return of Fréquenstar with Eric Jean-Jean as host.
