This drama is set in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period. It tells the story of Emperor Wu of the Western Jin Dynasty who unified China after the Yellow Turban Rebellion. There are more than 400 characters in the play, creating images with distinctive personalities and artistic charm such as Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Huang Zhong, Zhou Yu, Dong Zhuo, Lu Su, Sun Quan, Cao Cao, etc. On the basis of the original work, a joke about the love between children is added to embellish the "men's world" that was originally "full of bravery and lacking in tenderness and delicacy". Plot summary: Because Guan Yu committed a crime in his hometown, he fled to Zhuo County. He happened to meet Liu Bei and Zhang Fei. Liu, Guan, and Zhang had the same ambitions and were very compatible. They formed brothers with different surnames in Taoyuan and started to make their way in the world. Later, because he had to retreat to Shangyong day and night without rest for several days, he was trapped and exhausted. He was captured by Ma Zhong in Linju (now northwest of Anyuan, Hubei Province) near Shu. Guan Yu refused to surrender to Soochow and was killed by Soochow at the age of fifty-six. Although this drama is a historical drama, it has a lot of love between children and a lot of female characters. Many famous actresses from Hong Kong and Taiwan have joined the cast (of course beauties are indispensable, it is very flavorful), but it is more like a martial arts drama. Some characters in the play are very prominent and exaggerated (or rather exaggerated...), such as Zhang Fei; some characters are not as described in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. For example, Lu Bu's acting in the play is not like a capricious villain, but more like a handsome scholar. He doesn't look like a bad guy no matter how he looks. There is also a lot of mythology added to the play. This play was completed in 1995. Although it seems now that the content is not in-depth, the details are very inappropriate, the war scenes are rough, and the scenes are played repeatedly. But after all, it was more than ten years ago. It cannot be compared with modern film and television! So, please show mercy. No matter what, this play can be called a classic! It is called the Hong Kong and Taiwan version of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Moreover, the ending theme of this drama is even more memorable, as if it was written especially for heroes, which highlights the importance of recalling history and cherishing heroes! Please enjoy this classic Hong Kong and Taiwan historical drama "Heroes of the Three Kingdoms: Guan Gong" with the mentality of watching a martial arts movie.
