Overview
Gamekeeper Maxim Okhlopkov is forced to leave his native Pskov forests due to a conflict with the local mayor. His new home is cold St. Petersburg, large, uncomfortable and unusual. The ability to see a trace and sense animal logic helps Okhlopkov at his new duty station. He gets a job as a detective in a disadvantaged area of St. Petersburg. His partner is a Welsh Corgi dog named Tube. A provincial and a truth-teller, Okhlopkov will need to get along in a big city, and his integrity often creates difficult situations.
