Overview
Television miniseries is considered the first adaptation production of period stories made in Colombia about its history. Original idea by Gabriel García Márquez, written by Stella Malagon and directed by Jorge Alí Triana, the miniseries adapts the memories of the tailor and shopkeeper José María Caballero (represented in the series as narrator), who wrote an extensive diary between 1743 and 1819 and where he gives an account of the main events of the Viceroyalty of New Granada and the first years of republican life. During 6 chapters, the stories of a generation of young Creoles are told who today, seen as national heroes for their deeds, as well as for their tragic destiny, symbolize the birth of a nation.
