
Overview
In the 1950s and 1960s, the whole country was playing a game of chess. In order to support the construction of the third line, Shenyang Machinery No. 2 Factory was ordered to build a factory in Sichuan. More than half of the factory's employees will leave this familiar black land to develop careers in the distant southern country. Although she was reluctant to leave her homeland and her mother, the beautiful Dali (played by Wang Qianhua) followed her husband on the train to the south and began her bumpy life; in 1978, Shanghai girl Gu Minhua (played by Cao Xiwen) was assigned to Factory 820 after graduation. Because of her beautiful and refined appearance, she looked like Chen Chong in the movie "Little Flower", so she was called "Little Flower" by everyone. Her arrival attracted the pursuit of boys, but her beauty also caused a lot of trouble. Her love and marriage were full of hardships. This film is adapted from the film "Tale of 24 Cities" by sixth-generation director Jia Zhangke.
