In 305 BC, the longest reigning king in the history of the Qin Kingdom, King Qin Zhaoxiang Ying Ji, succeeded to the throne. During the next fifty-six years, under the support of his mother, the Empress Dowager Xuan, and his uncle Wei Ran, King Ying Ji of Qin grew from an immature young king to a true king who was resolute, calm, and powerful in the world; and Qin also rose from an average second-rate power to a superpower that looked down upon other countries. King Zhaoxiang, assisted by the Empress Dowager Xuan, the strategist Fan Ji, and the "god of war" Bai Qi, adopted the national policy of "strengthening and promoting good relations" and "diplomacy at a distance and attack at a close distance". He led the people of Qin to destroy Yiqu, build the Great Wall, severely damage Qi, and capture the capital of Chu, forcing Wei and South Korea to surrender and engage in extremely brutal battles. The Battle of Changping dealt a devastating blow to the only remaining enemy at the time, the State of Zhao, and finally wiped out the Jiuding of the Western Zhou Dynasty in one fell swoop! Since then, the Qin State has become unrivaled in the Central Plains, and eighty-six years later, Ying Zheng's hegemony in unifying China has begun.
