Guy Fieri is expanding his successful restaurant empire and is searching for one talented food entrepreneur to run their own Chicken Guy! franchise on Guy's Chance of a Lifetime, premiering on Sunday, January 2 at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network, and available a week earlier to discovery+ subscribers on Sunday, December 26. Guy was flooded with applications from all over the country and chose the seven top candidates to participate in the most intense, high stakes job interview they could ever dream of, to become the owner of the newest location of the Chicken Guy! franchise. The candidates must prove they can successfully lead every aspect of the food business, from culinary, to marketing, and to front of house hospitality. Over the course of the six hour-long episodes, there is unexpected drama and a surprising turn of events when one of the candidates breaks under the pressure. Only one will have their destiny changed forever when they win the ultimate chance of lifetime.
Guy Fieri plucks six job candidates from across the U.S. and introduces them to his esteemed emissaries. Out of the gate, the candidates are feisty and determined to win, and the air of competition ratchets up a notch when an unexpected seventh candidate arrives, causing a big upset! Guy then throws all seven candidates right into training at Chicken Guy!, and their first challenge is to learn the CG! food items and line and then feed a crowd of hungry customers. Some of the candidates fumble and fry while others rise to the top and fly into Guy's favor. They're all awarded varying prizes in their new Show Wallets, but Guy wants everyone to have an equal opportunity at the big prize, so there are no eliminations.

But the challenges must go on, and first up are a pop quiz and taste test to measure how well the remaining six candidates studied their Chicken Guy! handbook. Divided into three teams of two, each pair has to plan a menu, create a marketing strategy, train the in-house staff and execute it during a two-hour service. Not all teams can handle the pressure, and there are serious breakdowns. Emotions run high, leaving Guy wondering if his star player needs to be benched.
The Branson takeover comes to an emotional end, but the job interview isn't over yet. Guy Fieri sends the candidates to Nashville, Tenn., for a daunting challenge, hosting hundreds of guests at Fry or Fly Fest! food and beer festival. They must use their entire Show Wallet to create a thematic spin on the Chicken Guy! menu and reinforce that theme with decorated tents and marketing literature. To help them build the best experience, each candidate is allowed to a bring a friend or family member as support. As the smell of fried chicken fills the air, Guy shows up to see the candidates' efforts, and the pressure is enough to make some fall to their knees.
