Overview
In 1941, Lan Zhibing and Zeng Jieru, mathematicians living in Europe, deciphered the Japanese army's telegram code and returned to China with their only son Lan Tian to join the New Fourth Army. Unexpectedly, the information was leaked. When they arrived in Jiangcheng, the Japanese ambush set an ambush. The Lans were arrested and died for their country. Lan Tian, who mastered the code book, was rescued by the New Fourth Army, but the Japanese invaders closed the city gate and rounded up Lan Tian. Yin San, captain of the Jiangcheng Security Team, was originally an underground party member, but lost contact with the party in an accident. At the critical moment, he took on the task of protecting Lan Tian and started dealing with Japanese military police captain Takahashi. To ensure safety, Yin San hid Lan Tian in the backyard of the hotel. And with the help of the proprietress Shangguan Yu and others, they try their best to protect Lan Tian. In order to send Lan Tian out of the city, Yin San overcame many obstacles and finally sacrificed his life for righteousness and died together with the enemy. Lan Tian and others left Jiangcheng by train and headed for the base area under the escort of the New Fourth Army. The organization decided to posthumously recognize Yin San as a revolutionary martyr.
