Overview
The Canadian miniseries is a very lovingly realized adaptation of the classic children's novel of the same name by Lucy Maud Montgomery, which features excellent actors. It tells the story of the orphan girl Anne Shirley (Megan Follows), who ends up in Green Gables on Prince Edward Island due to a mix-up at the end of the 19th century with the older siblings Marilla and Mathew Cutbert (Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth). The two actually wanted to adopt a boy to help them work on their farm, and are initially irritated. Ultimately they decide to keep the lively and talkative Anne.
