Overview
Zhang Min, an educated youth, grew up in a big city. She was sent back to her hometown to receive "re-education" and married a local farmer. However, her husband died unexpectedly in a car accident soon after. According to local customs, a widowed woman should marry away as soon as possible, but her mother-in-law's family background and the future of her five younger siblings made it impossible for her to let go. This kind-hearted woman with strong compassion and love finally gave up on the love and happiness that came again. On the day she was originally scheduled to get married, she resolutely picked up her quilt and returned to her mother-in-law's house, willingly becoming a "sister-in-law." Soon, her mother-in-law died of illness, and her sister-in-law became the sole supporter of her five younger siblings. In order for her five children to complete their studies, she lived frugally and became ill from overwork. When her five younger siblings all became college students, she reluctantly and contentedly said goodbye to her fellow villagers and younger siblings...
