In 1984, Disney and CCTV reached an agreement to broadcast "Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck". This cooperation received grand courtesy from both parties. Michael Eisner, the newly appointed CEO of Disney at that time, came to Beijing in person and attended the press conference held at the Great Wall Hotel together with the then Vice Minister of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television. Eisner said at the time that "the entry of 'Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck' into China is of symbolic significance." Disney International Dubbing Company conducted a large number of dubbing selections in China, and finally Dong Hao was chosen to dub Mickey Mouse, and Li Yang was chosen to dub Donald Duck. This version of "Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck" has been broadcast on the then CCTV Channel 1 for 15 minutes every day since 1986. The show brings together many of Disney's Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1930s. The show only aired for 1 year. But it deeply influenced a generation (or even several generations) of Chinese people and laid the foundation for Disney's development in China.
