Overview
"The Big Shopkeeper" is a TV series about winemaking in Shanxi. It was produced by Shanxi Film Studio (Co., Ltd.). It tells the story of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. There were hundreds of winemaking workshops in Jinshan Village, an important winemaking town in the north for thousands of years. Among them, the three families of Shi, Wei and Huo were the most powerful. Shi Jiabao Quanyi's "Laobai Sake" was ordered by the imperial court as a tribute wine, but when he was happy, his workshop suffered a strange fire. The chief shopkeeper Xiao Zifu and Miss Shi Wanqing "borrowed" wine to age and blend with tribute wine, but they were reported by the Huo family and Baoquan was sealed. After the Revolution of 1911 broke out, the historians fell into a financial crisis, and Xiao Zifu and Ji Zong worked together to turn the tide. Ji Zongqi also had to find a way to save the country again. In the end, Xiao Zifu took up the historical task of transforming "Laobai Sake" from a handicraft workshop to a modern industry and finally made it a national brand.
