Overview
Emma Lambert, clown in a traveling circus, decides to put an end to her nomadic life by returning to her family's home, "la Commanderie". There she finds her son Maxime, under the influence of alcohol, desperate after her divorce, Martine, her daughter, a nurse married to Serge, a man discouraged by unemployment and stifling in a suburban apartment and Marina, the youngest, who only dreams of glory and success in dancing. In short, a disorganized family in which Emma wishes, by her return, to restore order. But she is unaware that her return arouses resentments from Marthe's past, a cripple, and that her ex-husband, whom she thought was dead, is lurking around the family estate of "La Commanderie".
