Overview
During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty, the Song Dynasty suffered from internal and external troubles and the country was in a sluggish state. Nan'an has always been prosperous and stable because of the able minister Du Bao's governance. In order to thank Governor Du, the people of Nan'an presented him with a magical seven-color peony. Du Bao was originally a peony lover, but because he was worried about the war between the Song and Jin Dynasties, he did not want to lose his mind by playing with things, so he locked up the peony garden in his mansion.
