Overview
In the early days of liberation, an unmarked transport plane crashed near Lingyun Village while flying over the Guilin area of Guangxi, because the plane contained top-secret documents intended to undermine the New China regime by the Kuomintang. Liao Zhigang (played by Zhang Hongrui), deputy commander of our army's Guangxi Division, and political commissar Xiang Shaojun (played by Zhang Xilin) are responsible for investigating the incident. Lingyun Village is located in a remote mountainous area with steep terrain and mixed people. During the investigation, Liao Zhigang fought an arduous battle with bandit gangs and the remnants of the Kuomintang in Lingyun Village. As a member of the Communist Party, Liao Zhigang received great help from the local people, and finally found and deciphered top-secret documents, curbed the conspiracy of the remaining forces of the Kuomintang, eradicated the power of bandit gangs, and won the admiration and admiration of Miao saint Yang Aying (played by Zhou Fang).
