Overview
In the early winter of 2006, in Bianyang City, a province in western China, the public security director Zhao Weidong (played by Tian Xiaobing) was diligent and shrewd, and the area under his jurisdiction was peaceful and quiet. But on his first day in office, Gao Xin, the deputy mayor in charge of municipal construction, was suddenly shot while cutting the ribbon for the completion of Century Plaza. Zhao Weidong, who was in charge of security at the scene, blocked two shots for Vice Mayor Gao. Strangely, the bullets were not fired from the same barrel. Zhao Weidong ordered the criminal police captain Song Jie (played by Tian Zheng) to investigate Mayor Gao first. Unfortunately, five days later, Mayor Gao was suddenly killed in a car accident on the highway from the provincial capital to Bianyang City. The shooting on March 12th and the car accident just five days apart, the cause of Vice Mayor Gao's death has attracted a lot of speculation, and the case has become confusing. Based on the investigation of the shell casings left at the scene of the shooting, the Public Security Bureau found that one of the bullets was used by Huang Zhiqiang 16 years ago, and Huang Zhiqiang committed suicide by drinking the bullet when he was surrounded. Just when the case investigation was not tense, police officer Bi Dahai discovered a mobile phone. But when the police found the owner, he had been killed. For a time, the clouds and mountains were shrouded in mist, and the clues were always cut off as soon as they were discovered. The wise and foolish criminal police captain Song Jie led police officers Du Xiaoqi (played by Xue Wei) and Bi Dahai to thoroughly investigate the case. They broke through all levels of resistance and finally arrested the real murderer of Vice Mayor Gao, brought him to justice, and restored Vice Mayor Gao's innocence.
