In June 1939, the Japanese army launched a raid on the area under our jurisdiction in the Nanshan District of Central Shandong. The troops of the three Suzuki brothers suddenly changed their offensive route and attacked Qingcheng where the national army was stationed at night. The Kuomintang troops fled in panic, causing extremely heavy losses to their troops. Guard captain Zheng Shaojun witnessed the sacrifice of his comrades with his own eyes, and couldn't bear it and rose up to resist the Japanese. Zheng Shaojun's actions were framed by the die-hards of the National Famous Party for "disobeying orders on the spot" and nearly being "shot on the spot". Only by chance did he meet Du Juan, a soldier of the Eighth Route Army who broke out, and others, and finally escaped death. This life-saving coincidence involved Zheng Shaojun in Du Juan's mission of escorting confidential intelligence, and he finally learned the true purpose of the Japanese army's night attack on Qingcheng - the Japanese army planned to convert the damaged Qingcheng civilian airport into a military airport as an important transit for bombing important inland towns in China. The Eighth Route Army was not afraid of danger and fought fiercely with the Japanese army around Qingcheng. Zheng Shaojun also gradually grew up in the ranks of the Eighth Route Army and finally became an outstanding Communist Party member. He led an anti-Japanese detachment and brought together all the anti-Japanese and patriotic military forces in the Qingcheng area, so that the Japanese army's conspiracy to rebuild a military airport failed.
