"Ambush" is an anti-war drama produced by Lafeng Media, directed by Guo Jianyong, and starring Xu Jia, Liu Tingyu and others. The play tells the story of a group of patriots who, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, fought wits and courage with the invaders and finally completed their revolutionary mission. The drama premiered on Hunan Economic Television on July 25, 2015. In 1937, the Anti-Japanese War broke out. Shi Yongkai, a Nanjing city guard officer, met Yuan Yuting, an underground member of the Communist Party of China, university professor Zhou Yongmin, National Army soldier Xu Xiulan, gang leader Lin Wanlong, folk craftsman Chen Xinian, patriotic wealthy businessman Peng Songxiang and others during the Nanjing defense battle. They united and successfully protected most of the surviving Nanjing citizens and the national treasure of Chaotian Palace. Yuan Yuting unfortunately died during the evacuation of Nanjing, and her communist spirit inspired Shi Yongkai. Under the arrangement of the New Fourth Army, Shi Yongkai organized the "Tiger Ben" special force, which ambushed the Japanese invaders in Xuzhou rescue, Wuhan torpedo battle, fire dance, arms mystery, casino battle, and Southern Anhui's anti-corruption campaign, and became famous. When Shi Yongkai led the "Hu Ben" team to encircle and suppress the headquarters of the Japanese bacterial warfare "Blood Chrysanthemum Project" in Shanghai, he had a fierce exchange of fire with Nagano Hideichi. During the fight, Shi Yongkai pierced Nagano Shuichi's throat and shattered the Japanese spy organization in East China. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Shi Yongkai led the "Hu Ben" special forces to fight across the country, composing an epic anti-Japanese heroic legend.
