Since 1995, he has appeared in the Fuji TV drama ``Asami Mitsuhiko Series'' as the main character, Mitsuhiko Asami.[5] The role of Mitsuhiko Asami was said to have been praised by those around him, and Yasuo Uchida, the original author of the series, also highly praised Enoki, saying, ``Every time I write a new work, Enoki's face comes to mind and gets in the way.'' In 2002, when Enoki himself announced that he would step down from the role of Mitsuhiko Asami due to his age (his successor as Mitsuhiko Asami was Shunsuke Nakamura), he continued to appear in the series from 2003 as Yoichiro Asami, Mitsuhiko's older brother and head of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the National Police Agency, at Uchida's request.
