Overview
The play mainly describes the rescue of Concubine Yang in the famous Maweipo Mutiny in history, her escape to Yangzhou, her eastward journey to Japan, and the love story between Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty and Concubine Yang. The play goes against the traditional view that "women are a nuisance", washes away the historical injustice that weighed on Concubine Yang, and gives a new evaluation to Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty and Concubine Yang. In 1989, it was jointly recorded by Emei Film Studio Film and Television Company and Shantou Audio and Video Corporation, and published by Shantou Audio and Video Publishing House.
