China in the 1930s. A good and reasonable Yang Baishun came out of Jiaoli Village. This man was named Baishun but everything went wrong. Grinding tofu, butchering pigs, dyeing cloth, and carrying water, Yang Baishun couldn't walk and hit obstacles everywhere. However, only the shaved foreign pastor Lao Zhan and the widow Wu Xiangxiang could understand him. Yanjin County Magistrate Han Jingming wants to flatter Commissioner Geng of the provincial government, but at the bottom he wants to prevent Deputy County Magistrate Ding Zihu from joining forces with local gangsters to usurp power. He also hides huge sums of money in his house, walking on thin ice every day. After seeing all the situations and experiencing the desolation of life, Yang Baishun took Qiaoling and Dengzhan on a journey to find the mother of his child.
