Overview
The story of the 30-episode anti-war drama "The First Paratroopers" is adapted from the best-selling novel "Dandelions on the Battlefield" by writer Wang Waimajia. This is also the third time that his work has been adapted into a TV series after "Chinese Cavalry" and "Military Ge Erdan". The book uses "dandelions" as a metaphor for paratroopers flying over the battlefield. It tells the story of the protagonist Cai Zhicheng, who joined the army during the Anti-Japanese War and became one of China's first paratroopers. He experienced the tragic Battle of Songshan and the surrender ceremony in Nanjing. Finally, amid the conflict between faith and reality, he chose to join the Communist Party of China, allowing the "dandelion" to continue flying over the Republic.
