Overview
A taiga romance depicting the changes in Ruriko's life, true love, and the salvation of her soul, a woman at the mercy of a cruel fate. The main character, Ruriko Karasawa (Megumi Yokoyama), is the daughter of a former nobility and seems to be promised a happy life. However, the waves of time and society swallow her innocent. In order to protect her father's honor and save her family from collapse, she becomes the wife of Kappei Shoda (Shinya Owada), a newly wealthy wealthy man. He is torn apart from his lover, Naoya Sugino (Shingo Kuzuyama), with whom he has promised his future. Eventually, Ruriko, who became a widow, turns into a witch who ensnares the men who come around her and destroys them, as if to take revenge on the society that distorted women's lives and on the egos of men. The story is an adaptation of the original story set around the 1950s after Japan's defeat in the war.
