Samurai Rabbit follows the teenage Rabbit Samurai Yuichi, descendent of the great warrior Miyamoto Usagi, on his epic quest to become a true samurai. But he isn't alone. He leads a ragtag team of misfit heroes – including a roguish bounty hunter, a cunning ninja, an acrobatic pickpocket and a faithful pet lizard – as he battles depth-charging moles, metal-tipped winged bats and monsters from another dimension, all in the pursuit to become the best samurai Usagi.
Longing to become a samurai, Usagi heads to the city of Neo Edo — where he accidentally frees a villain who was imprisoned for a thousand years.
Usagi and his friends battle Kagehito — a spider-like Yokai with multiple arms, legs and eyeballs — then must save Lord Kogane from an attack.
Usagi, Kitsune, Chizu and Gen head to the cultural center, where they encounter a Yokai that lives inside neglected things and one that can change shape.
Gen receives treatment at the hospital as Usagi and Kitsune wind up in the middle of a disagreement between the Mogura and Bat Squadron.

The Neko Ninja Crew attacks the temple, forcing Chizu to choose a side. Gen heads over to his side job while Usagi searches for the second Yokai.
After Usagi and Chizu search for the last Urban Yokai in the Hidden Dojo, Usagi has a change of heart. Kagehito gets closer to finding his missing item.
Chikabuma sneaks away to warn Gen, Toshiko, Chizu and Kitsune about Kagehito's plan. After Usagi proves himself worthy, Karasu-Tengu agrees to train him.
