
Saturday Night Live is an Emmy Award-winning late-night comedy showcase.Since its inception in 1975, "SNL" has launched the careers of many of the brightest comedy performers of their generation. As The New York Times noted on the occasion of the show's Emmy-winning 25th Anniversary special in 1999, "in defiance of both time and show business convention, 'SNL' is still the most pervasive influence on the art of comedy in contemporary culture." Returning for the second time as host, the twice Oscar-nominated Gosling is set to star in the sci-fi drama "Blade Runner 2049," which opens Oct. 6.Accompanying Gosling on the season premiere will be Grammy Award-winning icon Jay-Z, who will be making his fourth appearance as musical guest. Jay-Z's album "4:44" was released in June, and he will embark on a world tour beginning Oct. 27.

Gadot, who will be making her first "SNL" appearance, starred in summer's #1 film, "Wonder Woman," which earned more than $400 million at the domestic box office. The Grammy-nominated artist just released the career-defining album "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power," which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart.

Teller co-stars in the record-breaking "Top Gun: Maverick," currently in theaters and on digital.Kendrick Lamar returns for his third appearance as "SNL" musical guest. The 49th season of "Saturday Night Live" will premiere with Pete Davidson returning to Studio 8H for his hosting debut. Davidson is currently on a stand-up tour throughout the U.S. and Canada.
