This play tells the touching story of several passionate young people from the student band who resisted Japan and saved the country. They come from different families, different social classes and even have different political beliefs, but they consciously or unconsciously embarked on the road of revolution when the nation was in danger. Gao Chang, a kid from a wealthy family, failed to woo his favorite female teacher Su Wanting, but he unintentionally sent Su Wanting into the enemy's mouth, which also caused his family to be brutally persecuted by the Japanese army. In order to take revenge, he and his nanny's son Zhou Zexi and several band friends formed the Iron-Blooded Horn Anti-Japanese Rescue Team, cleverly assassinated several top Japanese soldiers and rescued Su Wanting. In order to avoid pursuit by the Japanese army, several young people decided to go to Yan'an, the holy land of revolution, led by Su Wanting, an underground member of the Communist Party of China. Before leaving, Su Wanting learned that her lover Zhao Qi had been transferred from Yan'an to work in the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Area. The Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Area now needs young people like them to work more than Yan'an. Therefore, after discussion with Su Wanting, Gao Chang and others, they decided to obey the organization's arrangements and go to the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Border Region. However, on the way to the base, the two brothers eventually parted ways due to different beliefs. Zhou Zexi joins the Kuomintang army, and Gao Chang follows Su Wanting to join the Communist Party. However, they have a huge misunderstanding of Su Wanting, who is undercover in the Japanese army, and have an emotional entanglement with Zhou Zexi's girlfriend He Chen, causing the two brothers to turn against each other!
