Overview
Wang Changlin's reconnaissance brigade and Savinbo's Kuomintang uprising force were integrated together to form the South China Sea Armed Forces Team, codenamed Red Shark. The main task is to cooperate with the People's Liberation Army to capture the islands along the coast of South China. Savinbo's sister Savinlan came to the armed workers' team as a family member. She seemed out of place because she could not adapt to the military lifestyle. The members of the martial arts team lacked marine knowledge, so Sa Wenlan, who was born in a naval family, took advantage of his talents and became a cultural teacher. After experiencing the painful lesson of the defeat on the island, the armed workers summed up their experience, faced up to their shortcomings, and gradually acquired the ability to fight on the island. They successively completed tasks such as collecting ships for large forces to land on the island, instigating the enemy forces defending the island, and destroying the oil depot on the island. After the People's Liberation Army successfully liberated Hainan Island and Wanshan Islands, the designation of the South China Sea Military Work Team was revoked, and Wang Changlin, Savinbo and others were incorporated into the navy.
