Overview
In the late 1920s, Fang Peng, the police chief of the Shanghai Public Concession, was involved in a complex case due to a series of serial murders. Du Juan, the Minister of Industry of the National Government, sent his subordinate Du Juan to Shanghai Beach in an attempt to sabotage the iron ore mining plan just led by geologist Xiao Anbang. He intended to hoard the iron ore and raise the price of iron ore to enrich himself. Unexpectedly, the discovery of this large iron mine aroused the coveting of many major powers such as Britain, the United States, and Japan, and all parties made every effort to seize iron ore mining rights. Fang Peng peeled off the cocoon and gradually discovered that the biggest culprit intent on seizing the iron ore turned out to be the Japanese. In the end, Fang Peng, with the help of a group of patriots such as Qian Feifei, uncovered Kong Peizhi, who had enriched himself, killed Du Juan, who was actually Japanese, and protected the iron mines.
