An exploration of the history of bohemians - weird and wonderful artists and writers who have chosen to defy convention, from radical romantics to sandal-wearing vegetarians and sexual-experimenters.

Victoria starts in post-revolutionary Paris, where poverty-stricken, garret-dwelling artists and writers managed to get a reputation for their loose living, colourful clothing and naked parties.

It is now the early 20th century, a time when the Bloomsbury Group and others were determined to challenge sexual taboos. They threw away their inhibitions, and frequently their clothes, and set the tone for generations of bohemians who wold follow.

Victoria looks at whether everybody is bohemian now or no-one is, and finds out more about the post-war scene from Francis Bacon to the modern day hipster.
