Set in contemporary London, Trigger Point focuses on the Bomb Disposal Squad. Known as "Expo", officers risk their lives daily on ‘the long walk' towards danger. Death is always just a heartbeat away.

Bomb disposal officers Lana Washington and Joel Nutkins are called out to a Met counter-terrorism operation at a London housing estate to investigate a potential bomb factory and suspected bomb-maker Andy Phelan.

CCTV footage of a suspicious vehicle leaving Westhaven leads Washington and the team to a warehouse on the edge of London, where they uncover bomb-making materials and evidence that seems to confirm that the bombers were Islamist. But the discovery of what appears to be military equipment and high-grade explosives on site makes Lana question the real identities of the bombers, and a further device left in a sensitive and provocative location seems to confirm her suspicions.

A far-right group called the Crusaders claims responsibility for the mosque attack, declaring it is in revenge for the Westhaven bombing, while counter-terrorism officers scramble to identify the bomber from CCTV footage. Working with the bomb data centre, Lana finds a forensic link between the explosives used at both sites - suggesting it might be the same bomber.

Sonya manages to trace the chemical explosive HMX used by the bombers to a government lab at Porton Down, but runs up against a wall of silence when she pushes for more information. Lana demonstrates to Thom that the wiring within the devices shows evidence of advanced bomb-making skills, leading her to suspect members of her own team.

Lana begins to explore her grief with the help of a clinical psychologist and begs Hamilton to allow her to resume her professional duties. The explosives team is called out to a device targeting a radio station covering the upcoming by-election, leading counter-terrorism officers to suspect a connection between the Progressive Alliance and the bombing campaign.

The EXPO team are stretched to breaking point dealing with a complicated device planted at the Campaign HQ of the Progressive Alliance. Lana tells Karl she wants to break up.

Expo Lana Washington is giving a routine talk, having just returned from secondment, when an explosion rocks the heart of the city. But is she ready to return to active duty?

The police launch an investigation to find the bombers, whose skill and sophistication keeps them one step ahead. Under pressure to get results, Helen makes a breakthrough.

As the team mourns Thom's death, a new lead emerges – an informant, promising intelligence on the terror cell. Meanwhile a journalist is sent a suspicious package, and a new leader emerges with intel on the cell.

Alex contacts the police with critical information about a new attack planned for that day, but Commander Francis warns the team against placing too much trust in him.

Lana breaks protocol to try to help Alex, knowing he has nobody else to turn to. Then the team makes a shock discovery about the terror cell they're tracking down.

Lana is faced with an impossible decision when she is kidnapped by the terror cell. A choice between her duty and saving those who matter the most to her.

Explosives Officer Lana Washington and her team are called to investigate a suspected bomb threat – an iconic, London Black cab that's been abandoned in a wasteland. However, they soon realise they're at the site of something far more sinister. Working alongside her colleagues in Counter Terrorism Command, the team race to find out what the person behind this unique bombing campaign wants, who they are, and who they might be targeting next…

With two incidents appearing to be connected, Counter Terrorism police work to establish a link between the two victims – a retiree and a university lecturer. As the investigation continues, the team grow suspicious that they aren't being told the whole truth, and an intervention from DS Helen Morgan backfires, leaving the unit at a loss.

With the help of Lana, Counter Terrorism Command learn more about the recent murders. But their progress doesn't go unnoticed by the bomber, whose campaign only intensifies, putting more people in grave danger.

All hope looks lost for the remaining missing person, until a new lead emerges. With Lana now known to the bomber, she has to work harder than ever to avoid falling into his traps, pushing her to breaking point.

The bomber's next target is symbolic of their whole campaign, and Lana, rushing against the clock, must find the bomb amongst the pandemonium. Her search peels back the layers of the bomber's secrecy, yet the two of them are thrown into new territory that neither is prepared for.
