Overview
In May 1942, the Chinese Expeditionary Force, which assisted the British army in fighting the Japanese army, failed in its entry into Myanmar. The Japanese army took advantage of the situation along the Burma Highway to invade our western Yunnan region, attempting to take advantage of the chaos to seize the Huitong Bridge, cross the natural dangers of the Nu River, and invade China's southwest rear area. The Chinese defenders decisively blew up the Huitong Bridge and contained the Japanese troops on the west bank of the Nu River.
