Overview
In the summer and autumn of 1947, the People's Liberation War entered the stage of strategic counter-offensive. In October of that year, according to the decision of the Shanghai Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the East Sichuan Provisional Committee was established in Chongqing to unify the leadership of the Party work in Chongqing and the East Sichuan region. The Provisional Committee shifted the focus of work to the countryside, launched small-scale guerrilla warfare, and coordinated the military struggle on the main battlefield. Due to the disparity in strength between the enemy and ourselves, the struggle was very cruel. From the beginning of the next year to September, the underground party in eastern Sichuan organized three armed uprisings.
