In the early years of Qianlong's reign, the Ali and Zhuo family of Islamic saints in the Hui tribe in Western Xinjiang of China gave birth to a strange girl named Ipal who was full of fragrance. The girl was hailed as the "messenger of God" by the Wei tribe, and she became the later "Fragrant Concubine". Ipal has been beautiful and intelligent since she was a child, and her parents love her like a treasure. In the mid-18th century, Ali, the lord of Yarkand City in Western Xinjiang, died heroically in the battle against the invasion of the Rakshasa Kingdom. After the Qing court general Zhaohui defeated the Rakshasa invading rebels, he accompanied Ali's brother Eseyi and daughter Yipal to Beijing to receive the title. Qianlong was fascinated by Yipal's intelligence and beauty, and admired her chivalry very much. He still had deep love for her, and wanted to use marriage to consolidate the unity of the country. Therefore, he had the idea of Naypal entering the palace as his concubine.
