Overview
"The Story of Red Apricot" tells a story that happened in Jiangnan in the 1930s. Lin Baiping, who works in a newspaper office, came home one day and found that his wife Lin Zhihua was sleeping with his best friend Bian Zhongying. Although he was angry, he still believed that his wife had never betrayed intentionally, but was just in love. He fulfilled them, quit his job, and ran away from home. He came to another city and became the tutor of Miss Liu Ruyan. The pure and pretty Ruyan was suffocated to death after being trapped at home all day long. Now she met a man, and he was such a gentle and elegant man. How should the pods burst? Under the table, he pinched Bai Ping's calf naughtily, and half-hidden in the trees, he watched Bai Ping swimming shyly, until he promised her body. However, Lin Baiping still couldn't let go of his wife, and Ruyan also felt that they were husband and wife after all. So when he came home to visit his wife, she was pregnant with his child and had become a nun. Unexpectedly, Bai Ping was unwilling to break up Bian Zhongying and Lin Zhihua, but fell in love with Zhihua's friend Zhang Shumin.
