Overview
The play is based on Pu Songling's short story collection "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio" , consists of six independent units. In "Lu Pan", Tao Yue Mingai transcends life and death and holds a ghost marriage; in "Qian Kun", Xie Linger joins hands with Xin Fangping to break through the demonic realm; in "Heng Niang", Heng is bewitched by a demon. The mother turns to hate because of love, the female ghost Lian Lian dies because of her love in "Lian Lian", the cat demon queen risks the world to protect her lover's bloodline in "Ye Sheng", and Yu Jing falls in love with the beautiful mantis Green Pearl in "The Girl in Green".
