Overview
In the ancient city of Yangzhou at the end of 1937, fireworks were weeping and willows were wailing. The iron hooves of the Japanese invaders crushed all the warm dreams of a water town. That night, Hua Yangsheng, known as the "Little Magic Knife of Pedicure", passed by with a flying knife and saved An Junxiong, a member of the Kuomintang group who was being hunted by Japanese soldiers. Gui Yurong, the youngest daughter of Gui Zhizhang, the richest man in Yangzhou, is An Junxiong's lover, but when she accidentally suffered from foot disease, she fell in love with Hua Yangsheng, a young master who relieved her of extreme foot pain. As a result, the little magic pedicure knife that was already An Junxiong's lifesaver also became An Junxiong's rival in love. A love affair in troubled times was distorted beyond recognition by the moral good, evil and rebellion of human nature.
