"Flowers Fall and Flowers Bloom" takes the tragic experience of villager Zhao Chengfu's family for forty years as the main line, telling the story of the joys and sorrows of three generations of the family. In the early 1950s, Zhao Chengfu's eldest son Guangyuan, who was cowardly by nature, obeyed his father's wishes and married Guizhen. Guangyuan's sister Shuhua was forcibly taken as his wife by the local evil master. After liberation, she returned home and met Shuigen and fell in love with her. However, Shuigen's mother strongly opposed it. Shuhua became pregnant with Shuigen's child and was forced to make an appointment with Shuigen and elope. Li Yongzhi's mother learned about Shuhua's experience and took her in. Li Yongzhi gradually developed feelings for Shuhua. Ex-wife Lu Mengyue learned that Li had remarried and left the family helplessly. "Ten years of turmoil" are over and the family is reunited.
