The Night Logan Wakes Up is an adaptation of the popular stage play La nuit où Laurier Gaudreault s'est réveillé from playwright Michel Marc Bouchard. The series, which mixes horror, humour and drama, takes place in the early 1990s and follows Mimi and her brother Jules, who are best friends with Logan.

Fresh out of rehab, Elliot spends time with his terminally ill mother, Madeleine; she receives a mysterious phone call that aggravates her suffering; the Larouche household gather by Madeleine's bedside, with the exception of one family member.

Mireille comes home after 25 years to undertake the process of embalming her mother, as was her dying wish; Julien looks into the murky circumstances surrounding Madeleine's death; Elliot relapses but keeps it hidden from his family.

As Julien tries to investigate Madeleine's will, he realises that he is being tailed by a mysterious stranger; on Chantal's birthday, the mystery surrounding Madeleine's inheritance clears up.

Chantal confronts Julien for some much-needed explanation; Elliot goes to a meeting with his brother; the family makes funeral preparations for Madeleine; the tension between Julien and Mireille reaches a boiling point during an argument.

Elliot is hospitalised, and everyone is by his bedside except Julien, who is still on his search for answers. To everyone's surprise, Julien finally shows up to reveal the truth about what happened the night Laurier Gaudreault woke up.
