
Based on true events, Le Mensonge takes place in the paradise of the Côte d'Azur, and more precisely in the town of Vence where Claude, mayor of the city, intends to become a senator. With a beautiful marriage and a successful professional career, nothing seems to be able to thwart this project. But everything changes the day his grandson, Lucas, accuses him of rape.

Everything in Claude Arbona's life has been a resounding success. Already mayor of Castel-sur-Mer, he's about to become senator. But the toughest challenge in his life comes from the person he loves the most: his grandson Lucas, who accuses him of rape.

The scandal becomes even greater when Lucas accuses a second man. From his prison cell, Claude fights to prove his innocence and manages to gain his freedom. But his grandson maintains his accusations and Claude is sent for trial at the Crown Court.

Ten years after the rape charges made against his grandfather, Lucas, now a young man, who is still struggling to build his life. Claude, for his part, was devastated by the events but remained combative and was re-elected mayor.

Lucas increasingly doubts his memories and the rape accusations. He tells the mother of his baby. Claude, him, is heavily condemned by justice. Lucas has no other choice but to fight alongside his grandfather.
