In 1900, the artillery fire of the Eight-Power Allied Forces captured the city of Beijing. In this year, two new lives were born in the Zheng family in the alley. One is Zheng Fengshi (played by Wang Tonghui), the young master of the Zheng family, and the other is Jia Fugui (played by Chen Gang), the son of the Zheng family's coachman. They experienced a changing China, encountered the impact of love, family, and friendship, and experienced a series of contradictory choices and the pain of life and death. But in the end, after the difficult experience of 1981, Feng Shi and Fugui, old friends and brothers, reunited after nearly a hundred years.
