Biography

Choi Kai-kwong, a Hong Kong film director and screenwriter, was one of the new wave directors in Hong Kong in the 1970s. Other well-known contemporary filmmakers include Tsui Hark, Ann Hui, Yan Hao, Tam Jiaming and others. In the early days of the development of Hong Kong's entertainment industry, Cai Jiguang mainly served as a TV station director. Later he joined Shaw Brothers as director and screenwriter. In 1983, he won the "Best Original Screenplay" award at the 20th Golden Horse Awards for the movie "Men and Women". In 1984, he began to make movies under his own company "Longguang Pictures Co., Ltd.". The company has now been dissolved.
